Shooting the beatles

I am 20 now. It is actually rather wierd to think I am no longer a teenager. Birthdays dont usually seem like much, but this is even stranger than when I "became an adult" at 18. We had a little party at the Wilsons (my Spokane family) with a few other folks. That was fun.

Last Friday, Jo, Milligan and I went shooting out north-west of town. Good times that. We took Dan's 22 rifle and his jeep, and some food to grill. We shot up a good number of cans and junk, and grilled some potatoes and steak. Then we shot the grill coals into oblivion. Im sure Smokey the Bear would be most pleased with that. The most fun though, was shooting a couple of beatles that came across the path in front of us. Inexplicably hilarious. Standing a couple of yards off, pulling the trigger, hearing the wizz of the bullet, and seeing the small crater where the beatle once was...I tell ya, its funny.

The profundity cannot be fully appreciated without knowing that the beetles also make a high-pitched whistling noise when expiring.

actually Jo, that noise is the noise of the bullet as it penetrates the air in front of you. you get that same noise if you shoot at a chunk of wood

I think consider sooting white-transparent jellyfish in the Maryland Bay much more sportsman-like...eh-hem

Yeah, but I bet your Dad could shoot the beetle at 20 yards...he shot better than most of us at the gravel pit in Fillmore...

could be. we were just shooting them at that range cause thats where they were. we were also shooting at about 20 yds and 50 yds if I remember correctly
