"A man with little sympathy for other faiths"

Apparently its true...the Pope is 'a man with little sympathy for other faiths'. http://www.guardian.co.uk/pope

Oh, and another thing, did you know that 'Turk workers urge Pope's arrest'? right here: http://edition.cnn.com/pope.turks.reut

something is seriously wrong with this whole thing

As someone on the news said...."the resulting violence only proves his satements even more".

Also, since whatever the Popey says is god's truth, the wishy-washy catholics will find themselves new homes.

Who knows, if "worse" comes, the muslims will fight the Catholics, and vice-versa and they might just spare us a lot in killing each other out!!

Interesting note:"how now could he ever present himself as a figure of global moral authority and a peacemaker after this?"
Is that what the Pope is? I thought he had the keys to the church!!

Also:"John Paul II made some dramatic gestures to rally world religious leaders, the most famous being a gathering in Assisi of every world faith, even African animists, to pray for world peace."
Isn't that horrid! I feel so sorry that I might even pray for his soul in purgatory.

well, I dont seem to have quite as much contempt for the Roman church as you do.

what I find truly incongruous in this whole situation is that fact that the Muslims are getting all riled up over the fact that the head of another religion has made remarks about their religion that puts them in an ill light and that shows little "sympathy" for them as they said. This would make a little sense if we were all some variation of Buddhist or some eastern religion. However, we are talking about Muslims, very insistent to the point of violence that their way is the only way, and Catholics, usually relatively assured that their way is the best way, but often willing to accept the view of "many roads". I hate to use this word, but what we have here is extremely intolerant Muslims getting worked up because the usually tolerant Catholics are being a little less tolerant.

My Romans professor, Dr. McMath, who generally has nothing good to say about Catholics, sayed that he likes Benedictus XVI and that his paper in which the controversial words were written, was a brilliant paper.
